Snow in April

I'm so ready for spring's sweet arrival. No more SNOW! The cold, and cruel rain, sleet and snow have ruined my hyacinths, tulips and daffodils. I'm so sad. It looks like Mother Nature will be my excuse to revamp my flower beds. Now where to begin???

Coffee Kvetch

Okay, so I'm not a coffee connoisseur. I've been brought up on instant hot chocolate, push a button cappuccino and now McD's iced coffees. I need a quick lesson in making your own delicious, but not too strong coffee drinks. Anyone game? I've searched the library, hi and lo, but only found books dedicated to what I call foo-foo coffee. Ew! I just want basic, easy to make - great tasting coffee; one a harried, working mother of three can make with her eyes closed. Oh-it must be low in calories yet no bitter taste. Is this a Tall order or what?

Be Kind to Others

It occurred to me this morning while making the morning commute, all 15 minutes worth; what does it take to be nice? How hard can it be to just be kind to others? Could our world be a better place if we would just smile a little more? Sometimes I think I need to have tons of money to make a difference in the world; yet, when I smile and give just the smallest amount of attention to a child - the light in her eyes is priceless. Why show kindness to children? The bottom line is children are our future and no matter what happens in the environment, in politics, in the park - what we teach our children will undoubtedly influence our future. Look around you, are you a Gen X'er? a Boomer? Aren't you directly affected by what your parents taught YOU?
